Forklifts are a powerful industrial vehicle used to lift and transport materials over short distances. Developed by freight carriers at the beginning of the twentieth century, forklifts are self-propelled small vehicles and have a platform that moves under a load to lift and lower the load.

Forklifts are used in operating warehouses, large storage facilities and various industries. It is mainly used for transporting materials and products from one place to another.

With the discovery of hydraulic power and the use of electrical power, forklifts have made great progress. Standard pallets started to be used especially during 1930 years and interest in forklift trucks increased. Over time, the need for warehouse use of enterprises increased and more effective methods for the storage of products began to be sought. In this process, warehouses needed forklifts that could reach higher heights and had more maneuverability. These demands led to the production of new forklift models.

At the end of the 1980s, new forklifts have been designed more ergonomically to increase operator safety and comfort, prevent injuries and improve work efficiency.

The maximum weights and centers of gravity that forklifts can handle are rated. These values ​​are placed on the vehicle and the loads must not exceed these values. As the center of gravity changes with each movement of the load, using forklifts requires experience and skill.

According to the Regulation on Health and Safety in the Use of Work Equipment, forklifts must be inspected and inspected at least once a year.
