Dust Measurements

Solid or liquid particles in the air which are finely grained in the air and smaller in size than 100 millimicron are called dust. Dust can cause respiratory and other health problems in humans and may even damage the lung tissue of the person if inhaled. It may disrupt the views of employees in work environments and cause very dangerous situations.

Dust Measurements

Effective measures must therefore be taken to limit the risk of dust, particularly in industrial environments. To do this, it is necessary to know the size and amount of particles in the air. Various instruments are used in advanced laboratories for dust measurements. These devices measure respirable crystalline silica dust and soot particles emitted from, for example, exhaust, agricultural activities, wood, metal, chemical, plastic and similar sources.

The so-called particle counter is often used to monitor air quality in clean rooms or working environments in industrial or office environments. These devices generally measure 0.3, 0.5, 1.0, 2.5, 5.0 and 10 in millimeters.

Air quality is generally determined by evaluating several indicators together. The first is dust with particles of different size. The latter are volatile organic compounds (VOC) such as formaldehyde, benzene and acetone. The third is carbon dioxide.

According to the values announced by the World Health Organization (WHO), 10 millimicron dust concentrations per cubic meter pose a risk of death. Dust particles of these sizes are generally not visible in the air. When inhaled, it can easily pass through the nose and throat and settle in the bronchi and lungs, causing various health problems.

Therefore, the detection, evaluation and control of particulate matter or dust is a serious concern for workers' health and safety. The size of the powder is an important indicator of where it will accumulate in the body and how it will work.

Dust measurements made by the competent authorities comply with the methods and standards published by domestic and foreign organizations.

Our company also provides dust measurement services within the scope of conformity assessment services. Thanks to these services, enterprises are able to produce more efficient, high performance and quality products in a safe, fast and uninterrupted manner.
Dust measurement services within the scope of conformity assessment services are only one of the services provided by our organization in this respect. Many other conformity assessment services are also available.
