The Zero Emission Vehicle (ZEV) program is a state regulation in the United States, primarily in California, which requires automobile manufacturers to sell electric cars and trucks in the state of 10. The number of such vehicles depends on the number of gasoline and diesel vehicles in that state. The aim of this program is to enable car manufacturers to design, develop and market electric vehicles that emit less global warming emissions and do not generate exhaust pollution.
