Axle Tests

In general, the part that transmits the rotational movement from the differential to the wheels is called axle shaft. There are usually two axles on the right and left sides of the differential. The inner surfaces of the axles have cutters. These cutters move to axle gears. The outer end of the axle is generally flange-shaped. The transfer of the movement to the wheels takes place via this flange.

Axle Tests

Because the axles operate under extreme loads, they can sometimes be bent or even broken due to drive errors or production errors. In addition, the axles end their life due to overloading after a certain use and are replaced with a new one.

Free axles are generally used in trucks and heavy goods vehicles. In this case, the axle shaft does not bear the load of the vehicle, its task is only to transmit the rotational movement taken from the differential to the wheels. However, semi-free axles are used in cars, vans and light commercial vehicles. These axles carry the vehicle's load on it and give the wheel a rolling motion.

In order to obtain maximum efficiency from the axles, it is necessary to pay attention to the rigor of the vehicle as well as the periodic maintenance of the vehicle. For example, if the joint bellows are torn or oil-free, they will damage the axles and the axle shaft. In the event of any force or impact, the axles may bend.

This destabilizes the vehicle. Excessive use of the vehicle can result in wear and hardening of the axle bearings. If the seals in the axle are defective, there may be oil leaks and damage to the brake system.

The axle tests carried out by the competent authorities are carried out in accordance with the ECE R-13 regulation of the European Union (R-13 Approval of the brakes of motor vehicles). If the vehicle's axle has been tested and reported under this regulation, the vehicle manufacturer is exempt from type approval tests.

For this reason, the manufacturers have the axles tested and reported in this context. Axle tests carried out by the competent authorities are based on domestic and foreign standards.

Our company also provides axle (axle) test services within the scope of industrial test services. Thanks to these services, enterprises are able to produce more efficient, high performance and quality products in a safe, fast and uninterrupted manner.
Axle test services provided within the scope of industrial test services are only one of the services provided by our organization in this respect. Many other industrial testing services are also available.
