Ambient Gas Measurements

Under normal conditions, ambient air is a mixture of the following gases: nitrogen (78 percent), oxygen (21 percent) and inert gases (1 percent) consisting of hydrogen, helium, argon, krypton, xenon, neon gases. Air pollution occurs when there is dust, smoke, gas, aerosol and odorous substances in the inhaled air or when there is a change in the composition mentioned above.

Ambient Gas Measurements

Monitoring of the working environment air is a necessity in terms of legal regulations. The information obtained from this monitoring is used to determine the effects of air pollutants on ambient air and the environment, as well as on human health.

The main sources of possible air pollution include transportation, electricity generation, industrial enterprises and domestic resources. Poor air quality causes a number of health problems in humans. Some air pollutants, such as benzene, are among the pollutants that cause worse consequences, such as cancer.

Especially in mining operations, metal processing activities, chemical processes, waste management facilities and the food industry, ambient air monitoring devices provide reliable protection against gas hazards.

These devices monitor toxic gases in the environment and constant ambient air for oxygen or hydrogen. The gas warning unit continuously controls the concentration of a given gas in the ambient air and gives an audible and visual warning when the individually defined limits are exceeded.

However, the working environment air should be measured by authorized laboratories at regular intervals. For example, if the carbon dioxide concentration in the ambient air exceeds the 0,3 percent limit, it is a health hazard.

If this rate reaches five percent, it may cause headache and dizziness, loss of consciousness of eight percent or more, and even death. Ambient gas measurements are important for the health and safety of employees.

The methods and standards published by domestic and foreign organizations are followed in ambient gas measurements performed in advanced laboratories.

Our company also provides ambient gas measurement services within the scope of other testing services. Thanks to these services, enterprises are able to produce more efficient, high performance and quality products in a safe, fast and uninterrupted manner.
Ambient gas measurement services provided within the scope of other testing services are only one of the services provided by our organization in this respect. Many other testing services are also available.
