GMO-GMO Analysis

The abbreviation GMO stands for English Genetically Modified Organism. In our language, the term Genetically Modified Organisms is briefly used as GMO. Genetically modified organism means any organism whose genetic structure has been modified using genetic engineering techniques.

GMO-GMO Analysis

Genetically modified organisms are organisms that have been redesigned in the laboratory in order to provide the desired physiological properties or to produce the desired biological products. In traditional agricultural activities and animal husbandry, producing products and offspring with the desired characteristics is a time-consuming process.

Therefore, genetic modification studies have been emphasized. In this way, by using genetic technologies, the genes of the organisms are intervened and the features that cannot be easily obtained by conventional methods are coded. Genes of unrelated organisms are added to the genes of the organisms and molecularly modified organisms are produced.

Briefly, genetically modified organisms are produced, using scientific methods including DNA technology and reproduction cloning. Today, GMOs produced with genetic technologies have entered human life with agriculture, medicine, research and environmental management studies and have become a part of daily life. However, GMOs have some disadvantages. Therefore, it is a highly controversial issue in many parts of the world.

Genetically modified foods were first approved in the United States in 1994 for human consumption. By the year 2015, up to 90 percent of cotton, corn and soybeans sown in the US were genetically altered. Today, one-tenth of the agricultural land in the world is produced in this way. This is because field yields have increased significantly and the use of chemical pesticides has decreased. Genetically modified organisms and genetically engineered microorganisms are used to increase bacterial genes' growth, nutritional values and resistance to pests.

According to the World Health Organization, although such organisms have been present in food for many years, it has not been proven that there are people who are adversely affected. 90 percent of scientists in the United States say that genetically modified organisms are safe.

Our company also provides GMO-GMO analysis services within the scope of other testing services. Thanks to these services, enterprises are able to produce more efficient, high performance and quality products in a safe, fast and uninterrupted manner.
