Free Cruelty Certificate

The future of the beauty industry is vegan and cruelty-free. Although they may seem synonymous with each other, the line between these two concepts is very thin and often somewhat blurred. There is no approved definition by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for either of these two concepts. As such, these concepts are perceived differently depending on the situation.

With a prudent approach, these two concepts are generally defined as follows:

  • Vegan means that the products do not contain any animal products or animal by-products. Well-known ingredients such as honey, beeswax, gelatin, yogurt, and other less obvious animal by-products such as lanolin (wool oil), squalene (shark liver oil), carmine (crushed insects), amber (whale vomit), and placenta are consumed by vegans. It is definitely not consumed.
  • On the other hand, cruelty-free or cruelty-free means that the products and the ingredients used in the product are not tested on animals at any stage.

As you can see, the definitions of vegan and cruelty-free are not in line with the general approach, but in essence the principle behind each is the same: respect for animal rights. Both concepts represent the protection of animal rights and defend animal rights.

However, there is an ethical vacuum. That's because cruelty-free products, while not tested on animals, may contain animal ingredients or byproducts that warrant the death of an animal. In this case, the question inevitably arises: are these products truly cruelty-free? In contrast, vegan products, although they do not contain any animal ingredients, can still be tested on animals. Isn't that against the vegan spirit?

So, for example, a moisturizing product may not have been tested on animals, but if it contains, for example, beeswax, it is therefore not vegan. On the other hand, a vegan shampoo or vegan sunscreen that does not contain animal ingredients or by-products may have been tested on animals during product development and is therefore not cruelty-free.

At this point, free cruelty certificate or cruelty-free certificates draw attention. There are three major and trusted cruelty-free certification bodies in the world in this space: Leaping Bunny, PETA, and Choose Cruelty Free. Among them, our organization from our country provides these services.

Although some companies declare that the cruelty-free, finished product is not tested on animals, some of the ingredients are still tested on animals during the product development process.

On the other hand, some companies claiming to be cruelty-free may not have personally tested the product on animals, but may have had it done by a third party. The best-known example of this is the companies in western countries that produce cosmetics and body care products in China.

Our organization assists companies that demonstrate their commitment to ending animal testing for products that everyone uses on a daily basis. Today, many international companies use the free cruelty certificate issued by our organization. In this way, the freedom of consumers to choose to shop mercilessly is supported.

The free cruelty certification program includes global standards for cruelty-free cosmetics, personal care and household products. In the tests carried out within the framework of this program, the supply chain is controlled up to the component manufacturer level.

This program also helps end animal testing globally. Our organization provides free cruelty certificate services to demanding enterprises within the framework of national and international standards, with its trained and expert staff and advanced technological equipment, among numerous test, measurement, analysis and evaluation studies.
